By Nature - Irish Wildflower Growers work for you to provide 'Native
Irish Flora' in seed mixtures suitable for many situations.
Wildflowers are planted in most countries world wide, there are
standards and definitions as to what a wild flower is, and how a seed
mixture should be produced and behave, as well as very different product
ranges for very different customers and site or garden growing
situations.
In
the main wildflower seed mixtures are divided into:
Annuals:
Annuals grow on tilled soil for one year only, complete life cycle in
one season.
Biennials:
Are plants which grow and flower between 12 and 24 months
Perennials:
Are plants which are semi woody and permanent or grow long term.
Further sub categories include species f or mixtures for wet or dry
sites, sunny or shaded situations, Limey or no lime in the soil.
At DBN we have designed short, medium and tall meadows, early and
late flowering, Wildlife attracting, easy, specialist and conservation
grade seed mixtures.
Grasses:
Are plants which compete with wildflowers in a meadow and are in the
main permanent or grow long term.
Weeds: In a meadow are unwanted wildflowers and rudimentary species able to exploit niches unfilled as your meadow
