The flower is produced on top of the plant and comprise a round cluster of 30-40 yellow, brownish to red colouring and touches of white, occasionally pink or cream flower heads. It has the ability to fix nitrogen in the soil and cope with drought, especially where it's roots have a chance to go deep into the soil or sub-base.  Often flowers best when every other plant dies in droughts, especially in dry quarries and beaches.
