In the 1st Red Data Book 1987 in which the Forest & Wildlife Service alerted the public to the decline and extinction of one third of Irelands flora. It recorded that nearly one third of all our species
are extinct, endangered, or in decline.
Species, which are at the edge of the geographical limits of where they can grow, internationally important species and naturalised plants all now face extinction. Our native flora is still under pressure
of decline. Today Forestry, drainage and development all displace native plants.
Native Plants need help, Our mission is to conserve and utilise Native Irish Species
