Page 3aSowing Rates

Sowing Rate: 100% Wildflower mixtures without grass seed

Sowing rates:

  • Normal sowing rate: 1.5 grams per m / 6.6 kilos per acre / 15 kilos per Ha.
  • Low sowing rate: 1 gram per m / 4.4 kilos per acre/ 10 kg per Ha.
  • Double sowing rate:   3 grams per m .The double sowing option is used to provide a greater splash of colour or where the site conditions are very difficult..

however high rates will favour larger plants, as if you double the rate you double the amount of larger species, restricting space for smaller species

Our experience since 1990 is that higher sowing rates should be sown on very poor ground, where any species is welcome

Normal sowing rate at 50%-50%: 3 grams per metre / 13.2 kilos per acre / 30 kilos per Ha.

Seek advice for all sowing rates with grasses and wildflowers as the rate of grass can be changed for most sites depending on what you wish to achieve.

Grass mixed with wildflowers can be ordered in any combination.
