Press Release Number 01:
Mr. Sandro Cafolla owner of Design By Nature - Irish Wildflower Growers launched a large new web site for anybody who grows or is interested in nature and wildflowers in Ireland. Designed for Landscape Designers and Council Officials, School children and Landscape Contractors alike, the site has taken many years to develop.
There are hundreds of photographs of the work of wildflower growers. Blooming meadows, Rare species and Gardens filled with native species.
As he says himself "The plantscapes and gardens you see in our photos are testimony to all the wildflower growers of Ireland.
This site is the result of years of work and is unique because we actually grow the scenes in our photos.
Irish wildflower growers collected from the wild all the native plant species we produce and then sowed and photographed them, DBN painstakingly grew them on as crops and then supplied the product to other growers, gardeners and landscapers. See the results for yourself".
The site is large and will take many hours of browsing. There are full colour Species Data Pages, with growing instructions on each species. These include the largest online digital record of the flora of Ireland
There is a Gardeners Web site with tips and pages for gardeners. On the Roadsides and Wildflowers section, A warning is issued as the rules change and the advice for roadside plantings is not for gardeners.
DBN's best selling Wildflowers Growers Manual is now online and expanding without the limitations of hard-copy / print. Its here that the hard advice on this new aspect of horticulture is expressed
Schools growing wild flowers are featured,
There is a competition, News of the garden Sandro is helping to plant in New York Irish Hunger Memorial Garden. A list of wildflower gardens open to the public, a list of roads sown with wildflowers.
And of coarse there is the Products.
Seed mixtures, Plants and photographs all for sale. But this is not an overtly commercial site, there is no banner advertising instead wildflowers.ie speaks softly of trade and shouts achievement.
