Wildflower Seed Mixtures without grass seed.

If ordering any of the above with grass seed, the wildflower seed element/ percentage is the same, the grass is added at 10%, 20%, 30%, 50%, or 80% extra depending on requirements, which reduces the price per kilo, but not the amount of wildflower seed required. If you need ! kilo of wildflower seed and order 50% grass you get 2 kilos (blended wildflower and grass) in total.

Remember to cut a wildflower meadow in the early morning when the grass is dewy wet and the stems are like butter, don't wait until afternoon as the job will get difficult as the stem get tougher.

Plugs are grown to contract and not available in quantities of less than 1000 per species.

DBN produce, flora rich seed mixtures to grow meadows with between 16 and 30 species that are colourful and attract wildlife.
We have low cost mixtures for large areas, Shade or Hedgerow, Wetland, or marsh, many species are Wildlife attracting.
Our native floras are specifically designed meadows for moist or dry acid soil mixtures or designed meadows for moist or damp alkaline or neutral soils
"No cut" mixtures are available for sand, peat, clay and silt or fertile loam
Tall, short, early, late flowering or single colour mixtures provide further choice
However the best mixtures are derived from plant communities that locally occur in the area. DBN can supply site specific wildflower local floras for special nature conservation projects.

DBN's Wildflower Growers Manual (Volume No 3), is in preparation and is due out 2011 with the completion of our new web site.
The ever popular Volume 1, is now out of print.
Volume two, was formally www.allgowild.com and version 2 of www.wildflowers.ie
At present all our best advice is here on this web site. As of march 2010, we are migrating all our work and a massive up date to a new php site. The growers manual will then be available in PDF. file format.
